Explore enchanting worlds with the Royal Philharmonic’s Principal Associate Conductor, Alexander Shelley. Mendelssohn captures the wonder and wit of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream, whilst Ravel’s characterful Suite from Mother Goose embraces the joyful world of childhood fairytales. Stravinsky’s ballet score for The Firebird uses spellbinding music to tell a tale of a glowing Firebird, magical feathers, princesses, princes and palaces.

A contemporary of Ravel and Stravinsky, Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.2 ranges from unashamed lyricism to a thrillingly energetic finale – the perfect showpiece for Japanese virtuoso, Fumiaki Miura (RPO Artist-in-Residence, 2021–22).
